Burns & Wilcox-Sponsored Max Homa Wins Fortinet Championship

Marks Homa’s third PGA Tour victory and first win with Team Burns & Wilcox

Farmington Hills, Mich. Burns & Wilcox, a globally recognized leader in wholesale insurance brokerage and underwriting, congratulates Max Homa, one of its brand ambassadors, on winning the Fortinet Championship this past weekend in Napa, California, September 16-19, 2021. The first tournament of the 2021-22 PGA Tour season marks Homa’s third career PGA Tour victory and his first win since joining Team Burns & Wilcox earlier this year.

“It’s truly special to play and win in California, where I grew up and played college golf for Cal Berkeley,” said Homa. “I am thankful for the ongoing support from Burns & Wilcox and happy to share another win with them early in the season. I look forward to continuing to showcase our shared commitments of hard work and integrity on and off the course.”

During the final round, Homa eagled 12 and then birdied hole 13 to tie for the lead. He pulled ahead after back-to-back birdies at holes 16 and 17, firing a 65 and ultimately winning by one shot.

“We congratulate Max on his outstanding performance at the Fortinet Championship this weekend,” said Alan Jay Kaufman, President, Chairman and CEO, H.W. Kaufman Group, parent company of Burns & Wilcox. “Max embodies what it means to be a winner and we are excited for what promises to be a thrilling PGA Tour season. His tenacious approach mirrors our own competitive drive and commitment to success. Like Burns & Wilcox as a leader in the insurance industry, Max utilizes all of the tools available, including teamwork and collaboration.”

The victory was Homa’s first on the 2021-22 PGA Tour and marks his third career win. In his professional career, he has won the 2019 Wells Fargo Championship, the 2021 Genesis Invitational and now the 2021 Fortinet Championship.

Burns & Wilcox currently sponsors three PGA Tour players: three-time winner Max Homa, seven-time winner Webb Simpson and six-time winner Jimmy Walker. The sponsorship with Walker began in 2016 and expanded to include Simpson in 2017 and Homa in 2021. Homa and Walker wear the Burns & Wilcox logo on the right side of their golf shirts and Simpson showcases the logo on the left side of his golf shirt. The company logo is also featured on Simpson’s caddy’s hat.
